Their old dog is never alone

So that their old dog is never alone, the family takes turns sleeping on the couch with him

Even if our dogs get a little less active as they age, we do everything we can to make sure their golden years are happy and comfortable.

One family, on the other hand, went out of their way to take care of their old dog. They even changed how they slept so that the dog would feel loved.

Spike is 14 years old and is an English springer spaniel. Like most dogs his age, he can’t move around as well as he used to. He just had a second stroke, which makes it hard for him to go up and down stairs.

Spike couldn’t do one of his favorite things, which was to sleep in bed with his family, like he has done every night since he was a puppy.

Spike’s owner, Catherine Morris, told The Dodo that the first night she and her husband took him home, they closed the stair gate behind them and went to bed. “He whimpered for a few minutes before jumping over the gate in the dark, galloping into my parents’ room, and immediately climbing up on the bed! From that point on, he slept there every night.”

Spike couldn’t go to his favorite place in the building because their bedroom was on the second floor. Even though he was sick, he kept trying. He tried so hard that his family had to block off the stairs so he couldn’t use them.

But instead of doing that, they came up with a cute way to solve the problem: if Spike couldn’t come up and sleep with them, they would go downstairs and sleep with Spike!

Now, different family members will take turns putting up the pull-out sofa in the basement and sleeping there with Spike. This is done so that the older dog always has someone to play with.

When Catherine got home from college, she saw that her parents were sleeping with Spike. This didn’t surprise her because her parents had always been close with Spike.

Catherine told The Dodo that they couldn’t live without each other. He is called a “old bean” by my grandfather, and the two of them usually talk to each other.

“My dad will also bring Spike his water and food to the couch, and he will feed him by hand to make sure he gets his medicine and stays healthy,”

Even though Spike isn’t as young as he used to be, it’s clear that one thing hasn’t changed: how much his family loves him

By doing this selfless thing, they are making it clear that they will do whatever it takes to make Spike’s last years as enjoyable as possible.

Catherine said, “We love our old friend so much and are so glad to have him in our lives.” We gave him all the love in the world, and all we can do is hope that this made up for his not-so-great start in life.

It is amazing to see how far some people will go to make sure their pets are happy. We appreciate how well this family takes care of their old dog.

Tell everyone about this incredible thing you did.
