Katie Harries

After walking the runway, a model with down syndrome realizes her dream

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” they say, but when it comes to Katie Harries, an Australian model with Down syndrome, we can all agree she’s stunning.

This 24-year-old woman is incredibly self-assured and wishes that everyone could recognize her for who she is. Katie’s disability was never an impediment to her achieving great things in life.

Katie has always wanted to be a model and walk the runways, and her dream has finally come true. She got to walk her first ever show after signing with an agency, and it was a big success. She attracted a lot of attention and was praised for her hard effort.

“The whole crowd jumped up and started roaring for her and calling out her name as soon as she completed her first solo walk,” model Krysta Heath said. “She just owned it, in Katie’s words.”

Katie idolizes Madeline Stuart, another Down’s syndrome model who has achieved worldwide renown, and hopes to follow in her footsteps.

“I am gorgeous on the inside and out, and I want to be a model so that people can see me for who I am,” stated this stunning young lady.
